The Pinellas Aquatics Council first developed the Lifeguard Games in 2008 with the vision of Holy Aday, Aquatic Manager with the City of Pinellas Park. Since the inception of the Games, Gary Ciak with AquaLinc has been a strong supporter and sponsor.
The Games are intended to be a fun and exciting atmosphere for lifeguards to come together. The competition included events to test skills such as active victim, passive victim and submerged victim rescues. Other events including relays and treading competition are included to build comradereamong team members. After the events are complete we share a meal and present awards. The top three teams receive individual ribbons and teams medals for each event. In addition, the top three overall teams recieve a team trophy to take back to thier agency.
As a sponsored event, the Lifeguard Games are provided at NO COST to competitors. Anyone is welcome to compete, simply register online with your co-ed team of 6. Check out this year's competition for more information.
